Welcome to Community Hubs!
The Community Hub Scheme aims to support local organisations that are already supporting their communities to help more people get online, stay connected, and access the services they need.
Community Hub are local, trusted spaces where residents can access digital support, build confidence, and stay connected. Digital Kent works with your organisation and trained Digital Champion volunteers to establish a strong, sustainable model that meets local needs. Our role is to lay the foundations - supporting setup, sharing resources, and building relationships - so the hub can thrive independently long-term.

Speldhurst Parish Council - Langton's Cafe
"After attending a webinar about Digital Champions, we felt it would be an excellent opportunity to support the local community by becoming part of the Digital Kent Community Hub network. By offering Langton's Cafe Sports & Community Hub, The Pavilion, Langton Green Recreation Ground as a venue for digital support workshops, we can make greater use of the building as a community resource while providing valuable assistance to residents.
To support this initiative, two Speldhurst Parish Council office workers have volunteered as Digital Champions and will help deliver digital support workshops from the venue under the guidance of a KCC Digital Champion Leader."

West Kent Housing Community Job Hub
When we met the Digital Kent team they were able to let us know about the possibility of us supporting a Community Hub in Swanley, as we have found it hard to access digital support there, this sounded like a great idea. West Kent Housing Association are dedicated to supporting the Communities in which we work and Swanley is a big area for us, lots of homes and residents and we want to reach out and support where we can.
Our Employment and Training team support residents across Kent to access opportunities’, get online and find work related activity, leading to new employment or training. Our service can help anyone who has work challenges and our specialist team will work with anyone who is seeking work, looking to gain skills, or already in work needing change. Digital skills support is a huge asset to our service as we find many people need that little bit of extra confidence with working online whether it be updating their CV, job searching, studying or just managing online accounts.

St Johns Community Cafe
St John’s Centre, Wrotham Road, Meopham DA13 0AA
We are open every Friday afternoon 2-4pm. We serve tea, coffee and cakes and everyone is welcome
Our Digital Champion has been joining us regularly since 2023 and helps people understand and operate their digital devices. As more services need to be accessed on line we are finding this help invaluable for older members of our community.
