Sweets for the Future at St. Simon Stock Catholic School
On Wednesday 23rd March 2022, Sam Lain-Rose and Uwaila Uwaechia headed to Maidstone to visit Year 10s and 12s at St Simon Stock Catholic School for their careers event.
Meeting with around 200 students, with valuable discussions about their digital abilities and their futures.
The task set for the Year 10 and 12 students was simple - guess how many sweets are in the jar. But we share with students how digital and career skills can be key to reaching their goals. Evidencing the importance of problem solving, team work, idea sharing and even using apps on their mobile phones.
Digital skills are key to many career prospects for students, and as such it is important for us to get out there and work with students.
We are proud of what we have achieved so far and looking forward to working with more schools as we continue to tackle digital exclusion in Kent!
