Romney Marsh Inspires

Romney Marsh Inspires

The end of July saw the first ever ‘Romney Marsh Inspires’ event, aimed at getting the local community excited about career opportunities in the area and offering the support to build the skills needed to thrive in employment.

There were so many organisations that came along to offer information and advice to any and all who needed it, including the NHS, South Kent Ambulance Service, South Kent Mind, KentChoices, Screen South and Digital Kent! A particular congratulations is due to The Education People, The Marsh Academy, Folkestone & Hythe District Council and the Romney Marsh Partnership for pulling this all together to throw such a fantastic event. Members of Folkestone & Hythe District Council and Kent County Council also came along to celebrate the fantastic day, and show support for these efforts.

The event looked at offering information about apprenticeships, digital skills, health and wellbeing support, cost of living advice, CV advice and guidance, and post-16 options. There were a range of training and careers’ providers present, along with “local champions” who have helped to shape South Kent for the better.

Victoria Lawrence, of The Education People, said: “We are really excited to have organised this event in partnership with so many great organisations. Skills development is so important and we are keen to showcase the variety of opportunities out there, as well as the great support services available. We are hoping this event brought fun and informative experiences to all involved.”

We were so proud to be a part of the Romney Marsh Inspires event, and to have supported its creation. We look forward to many future events together and making a big impact on the community!
